The HrHeal portal launched last year by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to tackle the Covid crisis and offer telemedicine services to Covid patients will soon provide “other general health services” as well.
A senior GMDA official privy to the matter said that GMDA would be developing the portal as a platform for all health-related services.
“HRHeal developed by the GMDA is currently used across the state. More than 500 hospitals are integrated with the portal. However, its focus so far has been on Covid only. Now, we plan to include other general services such as details of doctors and pharmacies so that if anyone needs any health-related services, they can refer to the portal,” said the official, who did not want to be named.
The plan to expand the scope of the portal came up during a GMDA Core Planning Cell (CPC) meeting earlier this week. According to officials, the district administrations and health departments used the portal to manage the pandemic and distribute medical supplies among hospitals. HrHeal carried details about hospital bed availability, testing laboratories, collection centres, medicines, oxygen availability, ventilators and other health infrastructure, which people could use to procure medical information without losing crucial time. That had turned out to be especially critical during the second wave of the pandemic earlier this year.
Now, the one-stop portal will contain a larger database of doctors and pharmacies that can be availed by patients dealing with any kind of health issues.
