New Delhi: The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) on March 16, 2022, printed the draft UCMDMP which is meant to be a voluntary code to control truthful advertising practices by the Medical Device trade. The advertising practices of the Medical Device Sector are at present being voluntarily regulated by Uniform Code for Pharmaceuticals Marketing Practices (UCPMP) which is a code based mostly on the advertising dynamics of the pharmaceutical trade.

The medical system trade is a vital keystone within the healthcare supply system and is inherently completely different from prescribed drugs. The issuance of draft UCMDMP signifies that the federal government has taken cognisance of the truth that a separate code is required which might precisely seize the moral advertising follow necessities for the medical system sector.

As per the order issued by DoP, stakeholder feedback have been sought until April 15, 2022.
